What is the shelf life of your cookies? We bake all of our cookies to order. Once they cool from the oven, we box them up and send them out the door to you. We don’t use preservatives (Nonna wouldn’t approve!), but our cookies have a shelf life of 180 days! To ensure freshness and longevity (although, really, how can you resist not eating them right away?!), cookies can be stored in a seal bag/container. If frozen, our cookies last 365 days! Are your cookies organic? All the ingredients our Nonne used to make their cookies came right from the village. The eggs came from the family chickens, the butter came from Mr. Visocco’s cows. The flour was milled in the village. The hazelnuts for our Nocciola came from a tree in the backyard. To make cookies with love in the tradition of our Nonne, we only bake with the finest, all natural ingredients that we can find. The cows that produce the butter and milk for our cookie batter are hormone free. Our eggs are cage free and hormone free. Our sugar is organic as are the lemons which provide a hint of flavor in many of our cookies. We don’t use preservatives. Not every ingredient is certified organic, but everything is as natural and fresh as we can find. Do you use preservatives? Absolutely not. Never. Nope. Are your gluten free cookies made in a gluten free processing facility? Yes! Our products have been certified gluten free by the GFCO, which includes annual inspections, regular product testing, and continuous ingredient reviews. It’s a rigorous process that we’re happy to undertake so that everyone can enjoy our cookies. I have an allergy to certain ingredients. Does your factory process these ingredients? Many of our cookies contain tree nuts, which are a recognized allergen by the FDA. Additionally, some of the cookies contain dairy ingredients such as butter, cream, or milk, as well as eggs. Although we are meticulous about cleaning our equipment between batches, the cookies with these ingredients are made in the same facility as our cookies without, thus there is a potential for cross contamination.
